“From our roots in 1951…to the present day”

We are a family business that was started in 1951 by Eddie Thomas in in those days we traded as Lasham Grass Drying Company. As the name suggests, the main activity was drying grass to produce grass meal which was used in the animal feed compounding trade.

As this was a very seasonal business, Eddie introduced farming and transport activities to provide all year round employment for staff and a better, balanced and less seasonal business.

Mike Thomas joined the family business in 1968 and the company continued to develop the farming and road haulage interests, growing steadily. In the mid 1970’s, the company took the opportunity to build and manage a warehouse on their premises at Lasham. In the mid 1980’s, the company expanded by purchasing the depot at Farringdon, where we still work from today.

Taking over the Alton deport, we were able to offer maintenance facilities for both commercial and private vehicles.

In the late 1990’s, ISO approved quality systems were introduced to all of the trading divisions under-pinning the professional image and quality values of the company.

The fundamental values of customer focus and quality are built on a positive staff attitude and form the basis of our team approach to exceeding customer expectations all the time.
